“Pong” – the first interactive game
Pong was one of the first successful arcade models that showed the humble nature of early video game history. Developed by Atari and released in 1972, it simulates table tennis, where players control vertical bars to hit a virtual ball.
“Galaxy Game” – the first public game
“Galaxy Game” was the first publicly available video game. The game was released in 1971, installed at Stanford University and coin-operated. Also in 1971, the future founders of Atari launched “Computer Space”, a commercial version of the “Galaxy Game”.
