Apple introduced the iPhone 17 Pro in a bold new orange color last year. Considering that Samsung is closely following in Apple’s footsteps, rumors suggest that the Galaxy S26 lineup might also debut with a similar hero color. However, a new leak suggests this may not be the case, as Samsung sticks to more subtle and elegant colors, instead of bold hero colors.
Ice Universe has shared an image showing the Galaxy S26 Ultra SIM card in four colors: black, white, blue, and purple. If Samsung sticks to its usual approach, these colors will match the appearance of the phone’s body.
While not as bold and loud as the Cosmic Orange color on the iPhone 17 Pro, the lilac/purple option will look elegant and premium on the S26 Ultra. It will also be this year’s hero color, and Samsung uses it heavily in marketing materials.
In comparison, Samsung offers the Galaxy S25 Ultra in silver blue, silver white, grey, black, jade green, pink gold, and jet black. The final three colors are custom colors available exclusively through the company’s online store.
The Galaxy S26 Ultra should also be available in additional Samsung.com-exclusive colors. The company has a habit of limiting standout finishes on its online store — the bold red color of the Galaxy S23 Ultra is a prime example, and the Galaxy S26 Ultra could receive a similar treatment.
There are no charging speed improvements for the base Galaxy S26
Samsung appears ready to increase wired and wireless charging speeds on the Galaxy S26 Ultra to 60W and 25W this year. Unfortunately, the base Galaxy S26 won’t receive the same treatment.
Previous leaks suggested that the Galaxy S26 might get 45W fast charging, but a new leak from a trusted source now falls short of those expectations. The wired charging speed will max out at 25W — the same as some previous Galaxy flagships.
On the bright side, the base Galaxy S26 will get a larger 4,300mAh battery, up from 4,000mAh. This will help improve the overall runtime of the phone by a decent margin.
Meanwhile, for the Galaxy S26+, the charging speed is also a maximum of 45W and uses a 4,900mAh cell.
