Google has hosted The Android Show ahead of Google I/O to give us an early look at some of the big announcements we’ll hear at its annual developer conference.
Here are the top Android, Android Auto, and Gemini features coming soon that you need to know about.
Gemini Intelligence
Google sees Android moving from an operating system to an “intelligence system,” and one part of that is the introduction of Gemini Intelligence. Gemini will switch from answering questions to getting things done. It will have new animations to display when it works, with special visual signals to guide your attention rather than distract you.
-
The agent’s nature means it will work within the app, ready to create a shopping list or book tickets, all from contextual commands. You can take a photo of a special event flyer related to a trip you have planned, and Gemini will look for similar events that fit your plans.
-
Rambler in Gboard takes the existing speech-to-type feature and adds new features for removing filler words, constructing sentences, and even adding emojis or wake-up lists, all by speaking into the phone. You can even switch between languages in the middle of a message and the message will be understood. This is similar to Nothing’s Essential Voice.
-
Create my Widget is a way to break away from pre-made Android widgets, and create your own based on your needs. For example, a widget might look at tickets for a particular event space, and display the event along with the lowest ticket price. Or, you can request a widget with a special meal plan that Gemini created for the week. The custom widget will also work on Android and Wear OS.
-
Many of the Gemini features currently found in Chrome on desktop will be integrated into Chrome for Android, where Chrome can automate tasks like finding parking based on event tickets, and updating orders based on preferences. What’s more interesting, Gemini’s Personal Intelligence feature will look at connected applications to make filling out online forms easier by recognizing relevant information, such as rental car license plates and calendar entries.
Android
-
Pause Point reimagines app timers, and is a new way to isolate distracting apps. You can label an app as a distraction, and when you open it, there’s a pause screen with options to do something different, like breathing exercises or view a photo gallery.
-
Screen Reaction is an excellent tool made for those who want to film picture-in-picture style video reactions. Instead of using multiple apps, green screens, and lots of time, Screen Reactions works by recording the screen and selfie camera simultaneously to get the effect. It’s coming to Pixel phones in the summer.
-
The Adobe Premiere app is coming to Android this summer, with access to custom templates and effects created for YouTube Shorts.
-
Instagram has some Android-specific improvements, including Night Sight and Ultra HDR integration, plus video stabilization too. The Instagram Edits app is getting some new Android-exclusive tools, like AI enhancements and the option to split audio tracks to improve the sound, or remove unwanted elements.
-
Google has redesigned 4,000 emoji with a new 3D look, and they will be available across Google devices later this year, with Pixel phones making them available first.
-
Quick Share has gotten an update recently, with the ability to share between Quick Share and Apple’s AirDrop, but requires a compatible device. Google has teamed up with Samsung, OnePlus, Xiaomi, Vivo, Oppo, and Honor to bring Quick Share to more phones.
-
In the update available now, Quick Share will generate QR codes that let you share files via the cloud without requiring a specific device. Later this year, Quick Share will also be available in certain applications, including WhatsApp.
Android Auto
-
Android Auto gets its own Material 3 Expressive design overhaul for smoother animations, wallpapers, and customizable widgets. Shortcuts for car-specific tools, such as garage door openers, can be added to the home screen. Cleverly, the entire Android Auto UI will now adapt to any size or shape of screen in the car.
-
Google says Maps will get its biggest update in a decade, with immersive edge-to-edge navigation, where you’ll see 3D views with buildings, bridges, overpasses, and terrain indicators, plus traffic lights, stop signs, and clear lane indications to make navigation easier.
-
On Google-equipped cars, Live Lane Guidance uses your vehicle’s front camera for accurate navigation guidance. Gemini will be able to answer questions about your specific vehicle, including information about warning lights, and whether or not an item fits in the trunk.
-
Entertainment has a selection of new features. Video will play in HD at 60fps, and with Dolby Atmos sound, then convert to audio when you start driving. The YouTube Music and Spotify apps will also get a redesign.
All the new features in Android, Gemini Intelligence, and Android Auto will arrive at different times in the coming months, and some may be specific to certain devices or vehicles.
Google has also announced the Googlebook, which takes the best of Chrome OS and Android and puts it into a new laptop. You can read about Googlebooks here.
PakarPBN
A Private Blog Network (PBN) is a collection of websites that are controlled by a single individual or organization and used primarily to build backlinks to a “money site” in order to influence its ranking in search engines such as Google. The core idea behind a PBN is based on the importance of backlinks in Google’s ranking algorithm. Since Google views backlinks as signals of authority and trust, some website owners attempt to artificially create these signals through a controlled network of sites.
In a typical PBN setup, the owner acquires expired or aged domains that already have existing authority, backlinks, and history. These domains are rebuilt with new content and hosted separately, often using different IP addresses, hosting providers, themes, and ownership details to make them appear unrelated. Within the content published on these sites, links are strategically placed that point to the main website the owner wants to rank higher. By doing this, the owner attempts to pass link equity (also known as “link juice”) from the PBN sites to the target website.
The purpose of a PBN is to give the impression that the target website is naturally earning links from multiple independent sources. If done effectively, this can temporarily improve keyword rankings, increase organic visibility, and drive more traffic from search results.
