Despite not seeing it at The Game Awards, the game is still coming soon.
Video game industry fans around the world tuned in to watch The Game Awards 2025 last night. This is the last major event of the year. We can see the various achievements of the developers who launched their games on the market this year. Awards were given to these talented teams, and some of them even received awards. Arguably, the biggest game of the event, with several awards, was Chiaroscuro: Expedition 33. But beyond the awards, some fans are wondering which games might appear during the show, either in the form of new trailers or their first public announcements. One of the games that fans may be hoping for is Gears of War: E-Day.
If you’ve watched The Game Awards over the years, you know that usually no one knows which games and developers will show up. It’s always full of surprises and big reveals. But sometimes we get little information about which franchise or developer will take over the role. Unfortunately, ahead of The Game Awards, we weren’t given any information as to whether we would see anything related to that War Equipment franchise.
Gears of War: E-Day Still Scheduled for 2026
Unfortunately, we didn’t get any news War Equipment appeared before The Game Awards, but the event finished without mention of the franchise. That disappointed a lot of fans because it had been so long since we’d seen him Gears of War: E-Day appear in public. Luckily, it was a game that wasn’t in danger of being cancelled.
If you’re worried about his current status because he didn’t show up last night, don’t worry. Thanks to the people at Game Placewe studied it Gears of War: E-Day is still scheduled to launch in 2026. Unfortunately, that’s all we know at the moment, as per the official post War Equipment Account X sent a message last night that the game would still arrive in the coming year.
For those of you who haven’t been watching Gears of War: E-Daythis is the title set to be the prequel War Equipment. This is a game that will reveal the true events where the Locust Horde emerged from their underground lair. That said, the game is currently slated to release only on PC and Xbox Series X/S. But with so many first-party games coming to Microsoft in recent years, we wouldn’t be surprised to see a PlayStation 5 release come later.
