GTA Online: How to Fast Travel (Official and non-official)

Of course, there are lots of ways to fast travel around GTA Online, both official and non-official. Here are a few to help you get started.

GTA Online’s map is big and expansive, with things to do around every corner. Getting to all these places can be a bit tedious, even with some of the fastest cars available to buy. Rockstar has listened before and introduces how fast travelso we’re going to learn how to do that, as well as some other ways interesting a way players have found to travel quickly from one place to another.

How do you fast travel in GTA Online?

Now about how formally fast travel, Rockstar introduced the method in 2023, using the Downtown Cab Company Taxi. Easy enough? True, but this is the biggest drawback of using this method. You can only travel to designated points of interest. There are 10 such locations, listed below, that cover a variety of locations on the map, but players may be less enthusiastic about learning about these hangups. Here’s how to use this method.

First, use your in-game phone to call a Downtown Taxi Company Taxi, where the caller will notify you, depending on your location, that there is a taxi headed to your location. Once you arrive, go inside and you can choose from a list of places you want to go. Remember, the place should not be a place of interest that you choose, but should be one of the following places.

1. Airport
2. Beach
3. Observatory
4. Terminal
5. Legion Field
6. Chumash
7. Tonga
8. Sandy Beach
9. grape seeds
10. Paleto Bay

Once you select your destination, at the bottom right a “skip” option will appear for $1000. If you have GTA+, the jump is free, but if not, you’re out of luck financially.

What other ways to travel quickly without a taxi?

Players have discovered some interesting ways to traverse the map in a short amount of time. Some require the purchase of property such as a casino or cruise ship. For the former, if you own multiple properties, including casinos, you can head to the penthouse of your gambling establishment and choose to travel to other owned locations.

If you happen to have a yacht (yes we know, Mr fancy pants here), you can hail it using your in-game phone, go to the bridge and talk to the captain. From there, a list of locations including other owned properties, warehouses, and other marine locations on the map will be available. The biggest downside to this option? It’s quite expensive, starting at $25k or $10k depending on whether you’ve completed the Superyacht mission.

Instead of using a yacht, it is possible, and for some players much better, to use another sea vehicle. Say hello to Kosatka. If you have Kosatka, ask for it from the interaction menu (M button on PC, hold down the View button on Xbox, or press the touchpad on PlayStation). Go inside and head to the helm. Once seated, you will be prompted with several options, one of which is named “Fast Travel”, and from there you can choose from a list of places you can visit. The trip is much cheaper, only $2k if you have completed the Cayo Perico Heist. From here sit through a simple cutscene and you’ll be on your way.

Can I fast travel for free?

In a sense, yes. You can travel quickly from one place to another using some pretty clever tricks, basically warping. However the easiest method is to set your spawn point to your desired location, or a location as close to where you want as possible and go from there. To do this, open the interaction menu (M button on PC, hold the View button on Xbox, or press the touchpad on PlayStation, as previously stated), move down to the bottom of the menu to Preferencefrom there you can change the spawn location to the various properties you own. Once set, your character can die or join a new session where your character will spawn in a new designated location.

Traveling was a hassle, be it in the game or in real life. But at least online there are some interesting ways to travel that won’t have the police or IRS questioning you at your door.
