What should you watch this weekend? This may not be an eternal question, but it is an old one.
There are too many choices in streaming and when faced with them, it’s easy to get caught up in comfortable viewing. But even the most comfortable clothes can become flimsy after a while.
So I’ve done the work of sorting out what’s new and by giving you fewer choices, the more likely you are to watch one of them.
Cape Fear (Apple TV)
There are two Cape of Fear movies, and each one is cool in its own way. Now, the limited series spreads the scary stuff out over 10 episodes. This third installment was executive produced by Martin Scorsese (who directed Robert DeNiro’s version) and Steven Spielberg, and stars Amy Adams and Patrick Wilson as a terrorized couple. The psychopath who threatens them is played by Javier Bardem, out of nowhere scary (just click play No Country for Old Men and make a pact with yourself to never take a risk and criticize someone’s bad haircut).
Office Romance (Netflix)
These days, rom-coms are in short supply, so we have to rejoice that someone who has made more than a few shine is in a new one. In the Office RomanceJennifer Lopez is the CEO of an airline hit by a lawsuit and Brett Goldstein is a lawyer brought in to help them. What happens next is described in the title. The two have to keep their relationship a secret, which adds tension to the story.
Not Suitable for Work (Hulu)
The title of this show by Mindy Kaling seems like a suitable continuation of the film above. It follows five professionals fresh out of college living in a Murray Hill apartment building. It’s not like sand Girls or like teasing Sex and the Citybut kinder like, well, Friends.
79th Tony Awards (Paramount+)
This year the Tony Awards were hosted by Pink for a reason. You can watch it just to see if it will get through to the audience or you can watch it because you want to see a little Broadway hit The Lost Boys, Schmigadoon!, Titanic, RagtimeAnd Cat: Jellicle Ball.
Pout-Pout Fish (Main Video)
Family friendly exhibits can be discovered under the sea this weekend together Pouting Fish. It is based on the children’s book of the same title. Adults will enjoy hearing about the acting talents of Nick Offerman, Miranda Otto, and Amy Sedaris. It’s a buddy comedy about a gruff old fish and a spunky young fish trying to save their home.
PakarPBN
A Private Blog Network (PBN) is a collection of websites that are controlled by a single individual or organization and used primarily to build backlinks to a “money site” in order to influence its ranking in search engines such as Google. The core idea behind a PBN is based on the importance of backlinks in Google’s ranking algorithm. Since Google views backlinks as signals of authority and trust, some website owners attempt to artificially create these signals through a controlled network of sites.
In a typical PBN setup, the owner acquires expired or aged domains that already have existing authority, backlinks, and history. These domains are rebuilt with new content and hosted separately, often using different IP addresses, hosting providers, themes, and ownership details to make them appear unrelated. Within the content published on these sites, links are strategically placed that point to the main website the owner wants to rank higher. By doing this, the owner attempts to pass link equity (also known as “link juice”) from the PBN sites to the target website.
The purpose of a PBN is to give the impression that the target website is naturally earning links from multiple independent sources. If done effectively, this can temporarily improve keyword rankings, increase organic visibility, and drive more traffic from search results.
