…we’ll soon find out who’s naughty and nice.
Hope can be a powerful thing, and it’s something that should be encouraged…if it makes sense. After all, hope is what keeps us going through bad days or sad times, and in the world of gaming, hope that a game you’re looking forward to will be good is what keeps the industry going. That brings us there GTA 6, which has a VERY HOPEFUL community in various ways, one of which is the hope that the game’s release date next year will remain. One guy on Reddit not only guaranteed it would stick, but also predicted what would happen online a month later:
“Because we know that fact for sure GTA 6 will be 100% released on November 19, 2026, which leaves less than a month before the holiday event usually kicks off in 2026. GTA Online & Red Dead Online.
Take Two and Rockstar clearly want it GTA 6 Online will launch alongside the main game to increase revenue and, although it hasn’t been officially confirmed, it’s likely they will do this.
Imagine driving around the state of Leonida, snow everywhere, Christmas lights, a few free shark cards here and there, everyone’s low levels and having a great time.
When they announced the second delay last month, it was truly disappointing for all of us fans, but at the same time reassuring that Rockstar is the same company it was last year when only delivering premium quality video games.”
…so…there’s a lot there, and a lot of people in the comments let the posters “have it” in terms of “absolute” which they omitted. First, no, we DO NOT know that the game’s release date will remain in place; that’s the point. Second, while it’s true that the online portion of the game will drop immediately after launch, there’s no guarantee that it will drop just a month later. While it’s true, this isn’t impossible, as it’s probably part of what Rockstar Games is currently working on alongside the main title, but it’s also not guaranteed.
Hope is a powerful thing, but it can also deceive us if we have too much of it.
Now, inevitably, there WILL be a Christmas event in the game, and that will make the online version of Leonida look very special. Rockstar Games likely already has an idea of how to do it “Florida-Style,” and that’s something to anticipate. But, until it gets here, in all its forms, don’t get your hopes up too much.
